F-box protein family의 구성원인 FBXO43은 약 40개의 아미노산으로 이루어진 F-box 모티프를 특징으로 합니다.
SCF 복합체(SKP1, Cullin, F-box protein으로 구성)는 단백질 유비퀴틴 리가아제로 작용합니다.
F-box 단백질은 F-box를 통해 SKP1과 상호작용하고, 다른 단백질 결합 도메인을 통해 유비퀴틴화 표적과 상호작용합니다 (Jin et al., 2004).
