Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Apoptosis Inducing Factor (AIF) induces chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
AIF is localized in mitochondria and translocates to the nucleus upon apoptosis induction, promoting the release of apoptogenic proteins such as cytochrome c and caspase-9.
It is highly conserved between human and mouse and is widely expressed.
Mutations in the AIF gene are associated with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 6, leading to mitochondrial encephalomyopathy.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, and a related pseudogene exists on chromosome 10.
