This antibody is predicted to react with non-human primate and rat based on sequence homology.
Target Information
A bidirectional lipid cholinephosphotransferase capable of converting phosphatidylcholine (PC) and ceramide to sphingomyelin (SM) and diacylglycerol (DAG), and vice versa. The direction depends on the relative concentrations of DAG and ceramide as phosphocholine acceptors. It directly recognizes the choline head group on the substrate and requires two fatty chains on the choline-P donor molecule for efficient recognition. May not function strictly as an SM synthase. Inhibited by bacterial PC-phospholipase C inhibitor D609. Localized to Golgi apparatus; Golgi membrane; multi-pass membrane protein. Possibly expressed in brain, heart, kidney, liver, muscle, and stomach.
