Caldesmon은 평활근 및 비근육 수축에 관여하는 발달 조절 단백질입니다. 인간 Caldesmon에는 전기영동 이동성과 세포 내 분포가 다른 두 가지 변이형이 존재합니다.

  • h-Caldesmon (120–150 kDa): 평활근에서 주로 발현
  • l-Caldesmon (70–80 kDa): 비근육 조직 및 세포에서 발견
    두 변이형 모두 골격근에서는 검출되지 않습니다.
