Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid F-box motif.
F-box proteins form one of the four subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex SCFs (SKP1–cullin–F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
F-box proteins are divided into three classes:

• Fbws: containing WD-40 domains
• Fbls: containing leucine-rich repeats
• Fbxs: containing other interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The encoded protein belongs to the Fbls class, containing several tandem leucine-rich repeats in addition to an F-box.
Alternative splicing generates two transcript variants.
