- 미토리보솜은 28S 소단위와 39S 대단위로 구성되며, 단백질과 rRNA 비율이 약 75%로 프로카리오틱 리보솜과 반대
- 포유류 미토리보솜은 5S rRNA를 포함하지 않음
- 종 간에 미토리보솜 구성 단백질의 서열과 생화학적 특성이 다양함
- MRPS27 유전자는 28S 소단위 단백질을 암호화하며, DAP3 (Death Associated Protein 3)과 기능적 파트너일 가능성이 있음
