Cellular retinoic acid binding protein (CRABP)은 저분자량 단백질로, 두 가지 isoform인 CRABP1과 CRABP2가 존재합니다.
인간 CRABP1과 CRABP2의 아미노산 서열은 각각 마우스 CRABP1 및 CRABP2와 99.3%, 93.5%의 상동성을 보입니다.
CRABP2 isoform은 인간 피부의 성장 및 분화에 있어 retinoic acid 매개 조절에 중요하며, 인간 염색체 1q21.3에 위치합니다.
해당 단백질은 성인 간에서 발현됩니다.
