Target Information
ACINUS (apoptotic chromatin condensation inducer in the nucleus) is a protein involved in chromatin condensation during apoptosis. It is cleaved by caspase-3 and another protease to produce an active peptide, p17, which induces chromatin condensation in vitro. ACINUS is ubiquitously expressed, and three spliced forms have been identified in human and mouse.
