Target Information
This gene is a member of the regulatory factor X (RFX) gene family, which encodes transcription factors containing a highly conserved winged helix DNA-binding domain. The RFX3 protein is structurally related to RFX1, RFX2, RFX4, and RFX5, and functions as a transcriptional activator that binds DNA as a monomer or heterodimer with other RFX family members. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described, with at least one utilizing alternative polyadenylation signals.
