Target Information

Alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG), also known as Fetuin-A, is a serum glycoprotein synthesized by hepatocytes. The molecule consists of two polypeptide chains cleaved from a single proprotein encoded by one mRNA. AHSG is involved in functions such as endocytosis, brain development, and bone tissue formation. It is commonly found in the cortical plate of the immature cerebral cortex and bone marrow hemopoietic matrix, suggesting a role in tissue development, though its precise function remains unclear.
