YAP (Yes-Associated Protein)은 WW 도메인 단백질 패밀리의 주요 구성원으로, 전사 공동활성화자이자 온코진입니다. 이 단백질은 편평세포암 세포에서 전사적으로 활성화되며, Hippo 신호전달 경로의 중요한 하위 조절 타깃으로 작용합니다. Hippo 경로는 세포 증식 억제와 세포사멸 촉진을 통해 장기 크기 조절과 종양 억제에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. 또한 조직 장력, 3D 조직 형태, 세포 증식, 세포사멸, 세포 이동에 관여합니다. IRF5 유전자의 돌연변이는 coloboma를 유발할 수 있습니다.
