Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
MSH3 is a component of the post-replicative DNA mismatch repair (MMR) system. It heterodimerizes with MSH2 to form the MutS beta complex, which binds to DNA mismatches to initiate repair. The MutS beta complex bends the DNA helix, shielding approximately 20 base pairs, and recognizes large insertion-deletion loops (IDL) up to 13 nucleotides long. After mismatch binding, it forms a ternary complex with the MutL alpha heterodimer, directing downstream MMR events including strand discrimination, excision, and resynthesis.
