Target Information
Neuron specific enolase (NSE, ENO1, ENO2, ENO3)는 해당과정에서 2-phosphoglycerate를 phosphoenolpyruvate로 전환시키는 효소로, 신경세포 손상 시 세포외액 및 뇌척수액(CSF)으로 확산됩니다. NSE는 세 가지 포유류 enolase 중 하나로, α, β, γ 서브유닛으로 구분됩니다. γ-서브유닛은 주로 신경세포 및 신경내분비세포에서 발현되며, NSE와 chromogranin A의 공발현은 신경내분비 종양에서 흔히 관찰됩니다.
NSE 항체는 신경세포체, 신경계 발달 세포, 신경내분비세포의 표지에 유용하며, 손상된 신경으로부터 방출된 NSE는 신경 손상의 바이오마커로 사용됩니다. 임상적으로는 뇌졸중, 저산소성 뇌손상, 간질중첩증, 크로이츠펠트-야콥병, 헤르페스성 뇌염 등에서 신경 손상 지표로 활용됩니다. 또한 NSE는 소아 신경모세포종 및 소세포폐암 등 특정 신생물에서 혈장 농도가 상승하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
