MAP2K4 (MEK4) serine/threonine kinase (mitogen-activated protein kinase 4)
MEK4 또는 MKK4는 STE7 계열의 이중 특이성 키나아제로, JNK1, JNK2 및 p38을 인산화하여 활성화합니다. MAP2K4는 JNK의 티로신 잔기를 선호적으로 인산화하며, 세포 스트레스 및 염증성 사이토카인 반응과 같은 다양한 생리적/병리적 과정에 관여합니다.
MAP2K4는 암 발생과 관련이 있으며, MAP2K4의 기능 상실 돌연변이는 폐 및 췌장 종양에서 발견되었고, 반대로 MAP2K4의 종양 촉진 역할도 보고되었습니다.
