Reactivity occurs against human BRRN1 protein. BLAST analysis shows 100% homology (18/18) with human and chimpanzee proteins. Partial cross-reactivity may occur with mouse, dog, rat, and chicken based on sequence homology of the amino terminal 13 amino acids.
Core immunogen sequence (A-G-P-D-H-W-R-F) shows 100% identity with numerous proteins from various organisms.
If multiple banding patterns appear in blots, confirm BRRN1-specific reactivity using peptide competition.
Reactivity with BRRN1 proteins from other sources is not known.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the barr gene family and a regulatory subunit of the condensin complex, which is essential for converting interphase chromatin into condensed chromosomes. The protein associates with mitotic chromosomes except during the early phase of condensation. During interphase, it exhibits distinct punctate nucleolar localization.
