Target Information
RNF2 (E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RING2)는 히스톤 H2A의 Lys-119 단일 유비퀴틴화(H2AK119Ub)를 매개하는 리가아제로, 히스톤 코드 및 유전자 조절에서 중심적 역할을 합니다. 이 효소의 활성은 BMI1/PCGF4에 의해 강화됩니다. H2AK119Ub는 전사 억제를 위한 에피제네틱 표지로 작용하며, 포유류 암컷의 X 염색체 불활성화에 관여합니다. RNF2는 또한 Polycomb group (PcG) 단백질 복합체 PRC1의 필수 구성 요소로, 발생 과정에서 Hox 유전자 등 다수의 유전자의 전사적 억제 상태를 유지하는 데 필요합니다.
