Target Information
The CCNDBP1 gene was identified by its interaction with Grap2, a leukocyte-specific adaptor protein important for immune cell signaling. The encoded protein interacts with cyclin D, reduces phosphorylation of the Rb gene product by cyclin D-dependent kinase, and inhibits E2F1-mediated transcription activity. It also interacts with helix-loop-helix protein E12 and may act as a negative regulator of liver-specific gene expression. Two alternatively spliced variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
