Product Specific Information

The MEL-14 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD62L, a 76 kDa member of the selectin family expressed by neutrophils, monocytes, and subsets of T, B, and NK cells. CD62L mediates lymphocyte rolling on activated endothelium and homing to peripheral lymphoid tissues via interactions with CD34, glycam-1, and MAdCam-1.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes; ≤0.03 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be optimized (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

• Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.
• Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
• Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information

Human CD62L (L-Selectin) is a 74–95 kDa glycoprotein adhesion receptor composed of:

• C-type lectin binding domain
• EGF-like domain
• Two short consensus repeat (SCR) sequences
• Transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions

It is constitutively expressed on most leukocytes, including lymphocytes (except some memory T cells), monocytes, and polymorphonuclear cells.
