Target Information
YAP (Yes-Associated Protein) is a transcriptional co-activator and oncogene, part of the WW domain family. It is the critical downstream regulatory target of the Hippo signaling pathway, which controls organ size and tumor suppression by limiting proliferation and promoting apoptosis. YAP also plays roles in tissue tension, 3D tissue shape, cell proliferation, cell death, and migration. Mutations in related genes can result in developmental abnormalities such as coloboma.
