Target Information

ITGB3BP is a transcription coregulator that can act as both coactivator and corepressor. Isoform 1 is involved in coactivation of nuclear receptors for retinoid X (RXRs) and thyroid hormone (TRs) in a ligand-dependent manner. It also functions as a transcriptional corepressor via interaction with the NFKB1 NF-kappa-B subunit, potentially interfering with its transactivation domain. ITGB3BP induces apoptosis in breast cancer cells through a caspase-2-mediated pathway involving mitochondrial membrane permeabilization. It may inhibit cyclin A-associated kinase and play a role in CENPA incorporation into centromeres through interaction with the CENPA-NAC complex.
