RNPC3는 pre-mRNA의 U12-의존적 스플라이싱 과정에 관여하며, 이는 minor spliceosome에 의해 수행됩니다. 이 복합체는 전체 비암호화 서열의 1% 미만을 차지하는 U12-type 인트론을 제거합니다. 또한 RNPC3는 m(7)G-capped U12 snRNA의 3'-stem-loop에 결합합니다.
