Target Information

MAPK12 (p38 gamma) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes. It is activated during hypoxia and gamma-irradiation-induced G(2) arrest. Activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) is a key mechanism for extracellular signal transduction. Stress-activated protein kinases are one subclass of MAPKs. MAPK12 functions as a signal transducer during the differentiation of myoblasts to myotubes.
