Cytokeratin은 분자량 40–68 kDa, 등전점 pH 4.9–7.8 범위를 가집니다.
각 상피 조직은 고유한 Cytokeratin 발현 패턴을 가지며, 이는 상피의 종류 및 분화 단계와 관련됩니다.
Cytokeratin subtype 발현 양상은 다양한 상피성 악성종양의 구별에 유용하며, 면역조직화학, 세포병리학, 유세포분석 등에서 활용됩니다.
