Target Information
Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase (iNOS) is an enzyme responsible for the production of nitric oxide (NO), a gaseous signaling molecule involved in vasodilation, neurotransmission, and immune response. iNOS expression is induced by cytokines and lipopolysaccharides and is found in various cell types including macrophages, hepatocytes, and smooth muscle cells. It catalyzes the oxidation of L-arginine to L-citrulline and NO, contributing to inflammatory and immune signaling pathways.
