Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) FOLR2 is observed and less than 1% cross-reactivity with rhFOLR1 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Folate is an essential vitamin obtained through food intake and absorbed in mammals. Folate and its derivatives bind to the folate receptor (FR) family, mediating endocytosis of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate into cells.
The FR family includes five members: alpha, beta, gamma, gamma’ (alternative splicing variant), and delta.
- Beta-FR: Membrane-attached via GPI anchor; expressed in malignant epithelial and nonepithelial tissues.
- Gamma-FR: Expressed in hematopoietic tissues such as spleen, thymus, and bone marrow.
- Delta-FR: Expression pattern is elusive, suggesting spatial and temporal restriction.
- Alpha-FR: Used as a selective tumor marker and may be targeted for therapeutic delivery via folic acid derivatives.
