Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Eukaryotes produce three distinct classes of RNA polymerase: Pol I, II, and III. Each polymerase synthesizes a different class of RNA.
RNA polymerase III (Pol III) transcribes 5S rRNA genes and all tRNA genes.
POLR3K, also known as DNA-directed RNA polymerase III subunit RPC11, is a 108 amino acid nuclear protein and one of seventeen subunits comprising Pol III.
POLR3K functions as a DNA-dependent RNA polymerase that uses ribonucleoside triphosphates to catalyze the transcription of DNA to RNA.
The POLR3K gene maps to human chromosome 16, which encodes over 900 genes in approximately 90 million base pairs and is associated with various genetic disorders.
