Target Information
Caspase 9 (ICE-like apoptotic protease 6, ICE LAP6, apoptotic protease Mch6, apoptotic protease activating factor 3, Apaf3)는 CARD 도메인을 포함하는 peptidase family C14의 구성원입니다. Caspase는 apoptosis(세포사멸)를 매개하는 cysteine protease로, 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하다가 활성화되어 특정 기질을 절단합니다. Caspase 9는 heterotetramer로 작용하며, 활성화 시 미토콘드리아로 이동합니다. Caspase 9는 Caspase 3 및 Caspase 6의 절단 및 활성화를 유도하며, Apaf-1과 결합하여 protease를 활성화시킵니다. 또한 DNA 손상 유도성 apoptosis에 관여하고, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP)를 절단합니다. 다양한 인간 조직에서 발현되며, Caspase 9의 변이 또는 발현 이상은 뇌 발달 장애, 암, 알츠하이머병 등과 관련이 있습니다.
