Target Information
PTP1B (PTPN1) is a tyrosine-protein phosphatase acting as a regulator of the endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response. It mediates dephosphorylation of EIF2AK3/PERK, thereby inactivating its kinase activity. PTP1B also participates in CKII- and p60c-src-induced signal transduction cascades, regulates the EFNA5-EPHA3 signaling pathway affecting cell reorganization and repulsion, and modulates hepatocyte growth factor receptor (MET) signaling through dephosphorylation.
