P504S/AMACR/a-Methylacyl-CoA Racemase는 가지형 지방산의 β-산화에 필수적인 효소입니다.
면역조직화학 염색을 통해 파라핀 포매 조직에서 P504S 단백질은 전립선 선암에서 높게 발현되며, 양성 전립선 조직에서는 발현되지 않습니다.
또한 두 가지 전립선 전암 병변인 고등급 전립선 상피내종양(PIN) 및 비정형 선상 과형성에서도 발현이 관찰됩니다.
