Target Information
ALDH2는 aldehyde dehydrogenase 단백질 계열에 속하며, 알코올 대사의 주요 산화 경로에서 두 번째 효소로 작용합니다. 간에는 세포질형과 미토콘드리아형 두 가지 주요 isoform이 존재하며, 이들은 전기영동 이동성, 반응 속도, 세포 내 위치에서 구분됩니다. 대부분의 백인은 두 가지 isozyme을 가지지만, 약 50%의 아시아인은 미토콘드리아 isozyme이 결여된 세포질 isozyme만을 가집니다. 이는 아시아인에서 급성 알코올 중독 빈도가 높은 이유 중 하나로 보고됩니다.
