Target Information
C1orf31 (also known as COA6) is a conserved mitochondrial protein required for respiratory complex IV biogenesis. Studies have shown that C1orf31 is essential for maintaining cytochrome c oxidase (CcO) subunit levels and plays a role in the copper delivery pathway to CcO. Defects in C1orf31 are associated with mitochondrial respiratory chain disease (MRCD). (PMID: 24549041)
