Target Information
BRD4 is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear phosphoprotein and a member of the BET family. It is the human homolog of mouse MCAP and contains two N-terminal bromodomains, a central ET-domain, and kinase-like motifs. BRD4 exists as two isoforms; the longer variant includes a proline- and glutamine-rich C-terminal region. It binds chromatin and regulates transcription and chromosomal dynamics during mitosis. BRD4 also interacts with proteins such as RFC and SPA-1, influencing cell growth and serving as a target for papillomavirus E2 protein.
