Target Information

Tafasitamab is a biosimilar that targets CD19.
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains and is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells. It can also be found on certain myeloid leukemia cells, particularly those of monocytic lineage.
CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and plays a central role in regulating normal and malignant B cell proliferation.
Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
