RNF111은 핵 내 RING 도메인을 포함하는 E3 유비퀴틴 리가아제로, TGF-β/NODAL 신호 경로에서 음성 조절 인자인 SMAD 단백질의 유비퀴틴화 및 분해를 촉진하여 TGF-β 표적 유전자 전사를 강화합니다. 배아 발생 중 중배엽 유도에 중요한 역할을 하며, 대체 스플라이싱으로 다양한 아이소폼을 생성합니다.
