Target Information
This gene belongs to the UBA domain family, which includes proteins associated with ubiquitin and the ubiquitination pathway. The ubiquitin-associated domain is a non-covalent ubiquitin-binding domain forming a compact three-helix bundle. The ABCD1 gene is located on chromosome 9 and has been studied as a potential mutation target in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
