Target Information
CECR6 is a protein associated with Cat Eye Syndrome (CES), a developmental disorder caused by duplication of a 2 Mb region at chromosome 22q11.2. The duplication typically forms a supernumerary bisatellited isodicentric chromosome, resulting in four copies of this region (inv dup(22)(q11)).
CES is clinically characterized by iris coloboma, anal atresia with fistula, down-slanting palpebral fissures, preauricular tags or pits, frequent heart and renal malformations, and normal or near-normal mental development.
