Description:
The eBioGoH3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human CD49f (Integrin α6), also known as very late activation antigen 6 (VLA-6 α chain) and platelet gpIc. CD49f is a 120 kDa transmembrane protein that associates with CD29 (Integrin β1) to form the VLA-6 complex or with CD104 (Integrin β4) to form the α6β4 complex. It is expressed primarily on T cells, monocytes, platelets, epithelial, and endothelial cells, and has also been found on germinal center B cells.
This antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and bovine integrin α6 and can block binding of integrin α6 to laminin.

Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration is advised per assay.

Target Information
CD49f (Integrin α6, ITGA6) encodes the integrin α6 chain, forming heterodimers with β1 or β4 subunits (e.g., VLA-6 or TSP180). Integrins mediate cell adhesion and signaling between the extracellular matrix (ECM) and cytoskeleton, influencing cell morphology, mobility, and proliferation.
CD49f is predominantly expressed in epithelial tissues and plays a key role in hemidesmosome structure. Over 18 α and 8 β subunits have been identified in mammals, enabling diverse integrin combinations and functions, including cell aggregation via ICAM interactions.
