Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The androgen receptor (AR) is a member of the steroid-hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors.
It is a ligand-activated transcription factor that binds active testosterone (T) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
Upon ligand binding, the receptor translocates into the nucleus, dimerizes, and activates transcription of androgen-responsive genes.
AR signaling is crucial for development and function of male reproductive organs such as the prostate and epididymis, and also affects nonreproductive organs including muscle, hair follicles, and brain.
Abnormalities in AR signaling are associated with diseases such as prostate cancer, Kennedy’s disease, and male infertility.
Mutations in the AR gene can cause complete androgen insensitivity (CAIS).
