Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CYFIP1.
Target Information
CYFIP1 is a component of the CYFIP1–EIF4E–FMR1 complex, which binds to the mRNA cap and mediates translational repression. Within this complex, CYFIP1 acts as an adapter between EIF4E and FMR1, promoting translational repression activity of FMR1 in the brain, likely by mediating its association with EIF4E and mRNA. It is involved in the formation of membrane ruffles, lamellipodia protrusions, and axon outgrowth. CYFIP1 binds to F-actin but not RNA, regulates epithelial morphogenesis, and may act as an invasion suppressor in cancers.
