BNIP1 (BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa-interacting protein 1)은 BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa 단백질과 상호작용하는 BNIP 단백질 패밀리의 일원입니다. 이는 바이러스 유도 세포사멸 억제 단백질(E1B 19 kDa) 및 항세포사멸 단백질 BCL2와 유사 서열을 가진 단백질과 상호작용합니다. 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 4개의 전사 변이체가 생성되며, 그 중 BNIP1 변이체는 유전자 전체 코딩 영역을 포함하고 있습니다. 이 변이체는 세포사멸 유도 기능과 관련된 BH3 도메인을 보유합니다.
