Target Information
TMPRSS3 유전자는 세린 프로테아제(serine protease) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 세린 프로테아제 도메인, 막관통(transmembrane) 도메인, LDL 수용체 유사 도메인, 그리고 scavenger receptor cysteine-rich 도메인을 포함하고 있습니다.
세린 프로테아제는 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여하며, 그 기능 이상은 여러 인간 질환과 관련됩니다. TMPRSS3는 선천적 및 소아기 발병 자가 열성 난청과 연관되어 있으며, 태아의 달팽이관(cochlea) 및 여러 조직에서 발현됩니다. 내이(inner ear)의 발달과 유지에 관여하는 것으로 생각되며, 난청 관련 유전자로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 난소 종양에서 과발현되는 종양 관련 유전자로 보고되었습니다. 대체 스플라이싱된 전사체 변이도 존재합니다.
