Rb는 DNA 결합이 가능한 종양억제성 핵 인산화단백질로, 세린 및 트레오닌 잔기에서 인산화되지만 티로신에서는 인산화되지 않습니다. SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, HPV-16 E 등과 복합체를 형성하며, 전사 조절을 통해 세포 성장 억제에 관여합니다. RB 유전자 이상은 유방암, 대장암, 전립선암, 신장암, 비인두암, 백혈병 등 다양한 암과 관련이 있습니다.
