Target Information
The AKR1E2 gene encodes a protein belonging to the aldo-keto reductase superfamily. Members of this family share a highly conserved TIM barrel structure and catalyze NAD(P)H-dependent oxido-reduction of carbonyl groups. Transcripts have been detected in human testis, and alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
