Target Information
Cytokeratin 8은 type II keratin 계열 단백질로, 염색체 12의 긴 팔에 클러스터되어 있습니다. Type I 및 type II keratin은 상피세포의 세포질 내에서 중간 필라멘트를 형성하기 위해 이합체를 이루며, Cytokeratin 8은 주로 Keratin 18과 결합하여 단층 상피세포 내에서 중간 필라멘트를 형성합니다. 이 단백질은 세포 구조적 안정성을 유지하고 신호전달 및 세포 분화 과정에 관여합니다. 해당 유전자 변이는 cryptogenic cirrhosis를 유발할 수 있습니다.
