• Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
• The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Alpha-synuclein is a member of the synuclein family, which includes beta- and gamma-synuclein. These proteins are abundant in the brain and play roles in synaptic transmission and membrane trafficking. Alpha- and beta-synuclein selectively inhibit phospholipase D2, suggesting involvement in signaling pathways.
Mutations in the SNCA gene, encoding alpha-synuclein, are linked to Parkinson’s disease. Alpha-synuclein peptides are major components of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s disease. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been identified.
