Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases such as IDH1 catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses: one utilizing NAD(+) and the other NADP(+).
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported — three NAD(+)-dependent (mitochondrial) and two NADP(+)-dependent (one mitochondrial, one cytosolic).
The cytoplasmic NADP(+)-dependent isozyme encoded by this gene is found in the cytoplasm and peroxisomes, containing a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal.
It contributes to NADPH regeneration for peroxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody product is specific for IDH1 (mutant R132H).
