XRCC1 (X-ray cross complementing factor-1)는 DNA 염기 절제 복구(base excision repair)에 관여하는 단백질입니다.
XRCC1은 약 70 kDa 크기의 단백질로, poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), DNA Ligase III, DNA polymerase beta 등 다른 DNA 복구 효소들과 물리적으로 결합하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질은 BRCT (BRCA1 carboxyl terminus) 도메인을 포함하며, 이는 원래 종양억제 단백질 BRCA1에서 발견되었습니다. 최근 연구에서는 BRCT 도메인이 XRCC1과 DNA ligase III-alpha 간의 단백질 상호작용을 매개하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
