Target Information
SIK3 (QSK) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase belonging to the QIK subfamily. Phosphorylation of SIK3 by LKB1 through the 14-3-3 binding enhances its catalytic activity and localizes it to punctate cytoplasmic structures. Overexpression of SIK3 promotes G1/S cell cycle progression in ovarian cancer. Mutations at sites H331L and A1103V occur frequently in breast cancer. SIK3 is a novel tumor-associated antigen (TAA) and a positive regulator of mTOR signaling through DEPTOR degradation. It plays a role in mTOR signaling regulation during chondrocyte differentiation and negatively regulates the cAMP signaling pathway by acting on CRTC2/TORC2 and CRTC3/TORC3.
