Target Information
FUSIP1 is a member of the serine-arginine (SR) family of proteins involved in constitutive and regulated RNA splicing.
Members of this family possess N-terminal RNP1 and RNP2 motifs for RNA binding and multiple C-terminal SR/RS repeats for protein interactions.
FUSIP1 influences splice site selection of adenovirus E1A pre-mRNA, interacts with the oncoprotein TLS, and counteracts TLS effects on splicing.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms, including variants utilizing alternative polyA sites.
