Target Information
Nogo-B is a myelin-associated splice variant of Nogo belonging to the reticulon family. It acts as a multidomain neurite growth inhibitory protein with regions that inhibit axonal regeneration in the adult CNS. Nogo-B and NGBR mediate chemotaxis in HUVECs and promote tube formation in 3D cultures. It is predominantly expressed in blood vessels, smooth muscle cells, and endothelial cells, contributing to vascular homeostasis and remodeling. Nogo-B is implicated in sporadic and familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
